As you may know I am born and raised in Niles and this community means a lot to me. Growing up I have many memories as a child but some I cherish more than others. And I believe that what makes you who you are are the moments that bring you full circle.
When I was young my Uncle, Herman Exner was a Niles City Fireman. I remember when my brother and I would go visit him at the fire station during his shift. He would allow us to crawl up into the firetrucks and slide down the pole like it was a playground. My uncle was very proud of his position. In his basement he had many items from the fire department that were lasting memories from his time with the fire department and we would sit by them every Christmas Eve also as a reminder of what he did for our community.
Fast forward to present day and as a business owner in this community I have found the perfect place to hold our meetings. In the office space at 2Ten Main there is a meeting room called The Firehouse. In the room hangs pictures of the old firehouse that I remember on Third St. It’s the perfect place for me and my company. It is a reminder of where I came from, a family that has always loved this community as much as I do.
